Job summary

UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill, NC is recruiting a New Graduate RN for the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit. This 36-hour-per-week role includes rotating day/night shifts and weekends with self-scheduling to balance unit needs.

Eligible graduates must complete NC RN licensure before start and may receive up to $10,000 relocation assistance. The unit cares for adults undergoing transplant for hematologic cancers and related conditions, offering a yearlong residency and mentorship in a structured

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• RN licensure must be obtained prior to first day of employment.
• If hired after Jan 6, 2014, must enroll within four years of employment for a BSN and obtain the degree within seven years.
• Must be eligible for RN licensure in North Carolina prior to start.

Responsibilities

• Education: identify learning needs and participate in patient education.
• Evaluation of Care: revise plan of care with interdisciplinary team and communicate for continuity.
• Implementation: deliver care for patients with complex problems and follow policies and procedures.
• Leadership: contribute to unit goals, collaborate with teammates, and promote safe practice.
• Patient Assessment: synthesize data to determine priorities and anticipate discharge needs.
• Planning: collaborate with patient/family to plan and update the care plan with available resources.
• Research: read studies and discuss applicability with staff.
