Job summary

HNTB is seeking a New Grad Engineer to join the Rail Operations Modeling and Planning (ROMP) team in Boston/Chicago for Summer 2027. You will contribute to planning, design, and analyses of rail and transit projects, leveraging software tools like RTC/OpenTrack and MicroStation/AutoCAD.

The role focuses on developing planning techniques and delivering calculations to support project execution in a fast-paced environment with a team of rail experts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
• Familiarity with MicroStation and AutoCAD preferred.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with railway engineering coursework.
• Ability to learn and apply RTC/OpenTrack software models.

Responsibilities

• Assists in production and modification of design calculations, technical reports, engineering plans and specifications.
• Performs research, development, calculations, design and delivery with the project team.
• Develops conceptual and detailed designs and calculations to support project execution.
• Supports ROMP team with planning and analyses.
• Completes assigned work within the schedule.
