Job summary

TriStar Centennial Medical Center in Nashville offers the HCA Healthcare Residency Program for nursing graduates transitioning to registered nurses. The year-long program provides hands-on experience, clinical training, and mentorship with experienced nurse leaders and educators.

The RN Resident role focuses on patient-centered care, collaboration with the care team, and involvement in evidence-based projects.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required within 30 days of employment.
• ACLS certification required within 1 year of employment.
• Other certifications may be required during employment.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• RN license or Graduate Nurse in the state.
• No prior nursing experience required.
• Some travel may be needed for training.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver high quality, patient-centered care in line with department standards and practice guidelines.
• Assess patient condition during admission and each shift; report changes.
• Perform procedures, monitor patients, and document care in the medical record.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor response; notify providers as needed.
• Provide exceptional care by promptly responding to patient requests and anticipating needs.
• Educate patients, families and caregivers about conditions, treatment plans, medications and follow-up steps.
