This program offers a comprehensive transition to practice for new graduate nurses, incorporating the Nurse of the Future Nursing Core Competencies. New graduates are hired into cohorts and progress through nursing orientation together. They receive individualized education with preceptors on their units, complemented by educational days over six months to foster mentorship, camaraderie, and experiential learning.
The preferred candidate has graduated from nursing school within the past twelve (12) months. The role involves nursing assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, and care coordination for patients and families across the healthcare continuum. The registered nurse is responsible for clinical, educational, quality, and fiscal outcomes, following the model of care established by the nursing department and adhering to agency policies, procedures, protocols, guidelines, and standards of practice. The position reports to the Unit Nurse Manager.
