Job summary

The NICU at MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children's Hospital is a Level IV unit with 82 beds. The Registered Nurse I (New Graduate) provides individualized, goal-directed care to families and patients using the nursing process, under general supervision, in a busy NICU setting.

Minimum education includes a Bachelor of Nursing preferred; RNs with Associate or Diploma must enroll in BSN within two years and complete within four. SC nursing licensure and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum training and education: Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred.
• RN staff hired on or after July 1, 2013 with an Associate or Diploma degree in nursing must be enrolled in an accredited BSN program within two years and complete BSN within four years of hire or reclassification.

Responsibilities

• Under general supervision, the RN I (New Graduate) provides individualized, goal-directed nursing care using the nursing process.
• Interacts with other health care team members to achieve desired outcomes.
