About the role:

As a Mechanical Engineer for Plant Layout Engineering, you will be part of the Global Engineering Services organization, including piping and HVAC layout, seismic interaction assessments, internal/external missile assessments, fuel handling and material handling equipment and tooling design, commodity clearance evaluations, flooding evaluations, and other hazard protection designs. You will gain broad experience in advanced nuclear plant designs, working with systems, equipment, structures, and physical plant arrangements.

You will report to the Manager for Plant Engineering. The position offers a hybrid work model at the manager's discretion, based in Cranberry Woods, PA, or Rock Hill, SC. Relocation expenses will not be provided. We are considering candidates able to work in the US without sponsorship now and in the future.

Responsibilities:

1. Support design, fabrication, construction, and maintenance of large-scale nuclear and non-nuclear projects.
2. Arrange nuclear island structures, equipment, piping, commodities, and supports using 3D design software.
3. Perform hazards evaluations with 3D plant models and analysis software.
4. Read and interpret engineering drawings and criteria documents.
5. Work with Westinghouse's proprietary digital design architecture (WNEXUS) to review and verify engineering designs and conduct in-depth reviews of 3D models and plant designs.
6. Provide reports to satisfy regulatory, code, and customer requirements.
7. Support design, fabrication, and construction teams by responding to RFIs, identifying design changes, and addressing deviations in collaboration with engineers across departments and locations.

Qualifications:

• 0+ years of experience.
• Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
• Motivated to pursue Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification and Professional Engineering (PE) licensure.
