The Opportunity

A premier residential electrical contractor is seeking a results-driven New Construction Residential Electrician (Rough-In & Trim Specialist) to install electrical systems across high-volume single-family residential subdivisions.

In this autonomous field trade position, you will take operational ownership over assigned residential home builds—executing rough-in wiring (NM-B Romex routing, box placement, panel installs) and trim-out phases (device trim, lighting fixtures, circuit testing). Operating under an uncapped performance-based piece-rate pay structure, top producers who work efficiently, minimize warranty callbacks, and maintain clean safety records directly maximize their weekly earning potential. If you bring residential wiring experience, blueprint reading fluency, and a strong work ethic, our firm provides steady year-round builder assignments, dependable weekly pay, and clear career advancement tracks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Rough-In Phase Execution: Drill framing, layout junction boxes, pull NM-B (Romex) cabling, set main service panels, and nail up device enclosures according to electrical plans and production schedules.
  • Trim-Out Phase Completion: Install switches, receptacles, GFCI outlets, ceiling fans, recessed LED fixtures, sub-panels, and smart home modules during final finish phases.
  • Blueprint & Code Compliance: Read, interpret, and execute directly from residential architectural blueprints, electrical schematics, and builder specification books; ensure 100% compliance with National Electrical Code (NEC) standards.
  • Quality Control & Inspection Readiness: Perform thorough circuit continuity tests, voltage checks, and system audits prior to municipal inspector walkthroughs and builder turnover.
  • Production Efficiency & Callback Prevention: Maintain a steady, production-oriented pace while eliminating rework, material waste, and warranty callbacks through first-time-right craftsmanship.
  • Jobsite Coordination & Safety: Adhere strictly to OSHA safety guidelines and corporate safety policies; coordinate professionally with homebuilders, site superintendents, and complementary trades on active jobsites.
What You Need to Succeed (Qualifications)
  • Required
  • Trade Experience: Proven experience in residential electrical wiring (rough-in and trim-out phases preferred); motivated entry-level candidates with formal electrical trade schooling will be considered.
  • Code & Technical Literacy: Functional working knowledge of residential electrical systems, tools, materials, circuit design, and National Electrical Code (NEC) guidelines.
  • Plan Reading Ability: Functional capability to read, navigate, and build directly from residential electrical plan sets and builder specifications.
  • Production Mindset: Ability and willingness to excel within a performance-based piece-rate compensation structure that rewards speed, accuracy, and trade quality.
  • Physical Endurance & Stamina: Capability to perform active construction labor—lifting up to 50+ lbs, climbing ladders, crawling through attics, and working in unfinished homes under changing weather conditions.
  • Mobility Credentials: Dependable personal transportation and a valid Driver License to travel daily to assigned jobsite locations.
  • Preferred
  • License & Certifications: Active Journeyman Electrician License, Residential Wireman License, or OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety Certification.
  • Specialized Skillsets: Advanced speed with NM-B routing, main service entrance assembly, or smart home automation installation.
Compensation & Performance-Based Pay
  • Uncapped Piece-Rate Earning Potential: Compensation is driven directly by completed piece-rate tasks, rough-in counts, and finished home handoffs—rewarding top-tier productivity and trade mastery.
  • Wage Security Alignment: Fully compliant with all state and federal wage laws, providing a reliable weekly pay structure backed by base wage protections.
  • Quality & Callback Rewards: Financial incentives designed to reward zero-defect inspections, first-time completions, and callback-free warranty records.
  • Health & Welfare Options: Access to comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage packages.
