Job summary

Lexicon, Inc. is seeking an experienced Estimator to review documents, drawings, and specifications for projects, change orders, and determine estimated cost and selling price.

You will analyze blueprints, specifications, models, proposals, and manuals to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for bids or change orders. Responsibilities include performing take-offs of steel and mechanical equipment, obtaining subcontractor quotes, applying labor rates, coordinating with the project management

Qualifications

• Five years’ experience as an Estimator in structural steel.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and architectural drawings.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel.

Responsibilities

• Analyze blueprints, specifications, models, proposals, project manuals to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for bids or change orders.
• Perform take-offs of all steel or mechanical equipment and obtain subcontractor quotes.
• Apply labor rates and hours per standard guidelines for the type of project.
• Communicate with the project management team to ensure bid requirements are followed.
• Prepare ATP’s/Change Orders for customers.
• Fill out all required bid forms and schedule information.
• Obtain review and approval of estimates prior to submitting and route the estimates to applicable parties.
• Update and organize the estimating folder and answer questions.
• The ability to work overtime and maintain regular, punctual attendance is required.
