Job summary

NIS EXPRESS is looking for new CDL drivers to start a career in refrigerated freight. A paid mentor program guides new drivers on real loads, then solo, hauling temperature-controlled freight with no unloading.

Typical weekly gross ranges from $1,300 to $1,500, plus mileage pay and a performance bonus plan. You’ll be home every two weeks, with drop and hook on most loads and $300 orientation pay plus travel covered.

Qualifications

• Must have Class A CDL and be at least 21 years old.
• New drivers: 120+ hours at an accredited CDL school.
• Experienced drivers: 6 months OTR in the last 12 months, or 12+ months in the last 5 years.
• Clean driving record: max 2 moving violations in 2 years, no major preventable accidents in 5 years.
• Pass hair and urine drug testing.

Job description

A new CDL with no road time behind it can feel like a locked door. Reefer freight opens it. A paid mentor shows you the ropes on real loads, and once you are solo you haul temperature controlled freight with no unloading.

Mentor Program

• 4 to 6 weeks on the road with an experienced mentor
• $650 a week during training
• Your own truck once your mentor signs off
• $1,000 a week guaranteed for your first 3 months solo

What You Haul

• Refrigerated freight, no unloading
• 1,900 to 2,500+ miles a week
• Home every two weeks
• Drop and hook on most loads

Paycheck

• $1,300 to $1,500 average weekly gross
• Mileage pay that climbs as you gain experience
• Performance bonus plan
