Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Oak Ridge, TN is seeking a Design Engineer to design, deploy, and improve instruments for the neutron science community at HFIR and SNS. You will plan, fabricate, install, and commission new instruments and upgrades, working with instrument scientists, technicians, and engineers.

The role requires a strong mechanical engineering base, CAD experience, and ability to lead or collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifikationen

• BS in mechanical, nuclear, civil engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in Computer Aided Design (CAD).
• Experience working in multidisciplinary technical teams.

Aufgaben

• Perform engineering design and analysis of mechanical systems for new and upgraded instruments at SNS and HFIR.
• Oversee fabrication, procurement, installation and commissioning of components.
• Plan, supervise validation testing and prepare technical reports.
• Produce design documentation and presentations for reviews.
