Job summary

Standard Nuclear is seeking a Nuclear Fuel Development Engineer to support fuel development, equipment design, and manufacturing readiness at our Oak Ridge facility. You will contribute to process development, tooling, and hardware integration within a regulated nuclear environment.

The role requires strong technical fundamentals, disciplined documentation, and collaboration with fuel development, manufacturing, quality, EH&S, radiological controls, and vendors to ensure safe, scalable

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical field relevant to nuclear fuel development.
• Hands‑on experience in fuel development, advanced manufacturing, or related programs is preferred.
• Strong engineering judgment, meticulous documentation, and safety focus.
• Experience with equipment design, tooling, fixtures, or process troubleshooting is a plus.
• Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and data analysis is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Support fuel development and manufacturing projects across design and testing phases.
• Develop and refine equipment concepts, tooling, and fabrication methods.
• Assist process trials, demonstrations, and manufacturing readiness activities.
• Evaluate performance, material behavior, and manufacturability to improve yield.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors for components and equipment.
