Job summary

Brown University Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to support Neurointerventional Radiology and Vascular Neurology. The role focuses on ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke patients, with duties in the ED, Stroke Service, and NIR, including hyperacute care and peri-procedural support.

The APP will collaborate with the Medical Director of Patient Services, provide education, and advance care across the continuum.

Qualifications

• Masters of Science Degree and successful graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
• Specialty certification required for Nurse Practitioners
• BLS and ACLS certifications at minimum
• 1–2 years of APP experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of patients in collaboration with the healthcare team
• Oversee care coordination in acute, home, and ambulatory settings as feasible
• Provide education and consultation to healthcare providers
• Perform advanced physical and psychosocial assessments
• Assist in hyperacute stroke care and interventional procedures
• Participate in rounds, pre/post-procedure tasks, and discharge planning
