Job summary

CarePoint in Denver is seeking a Full Time Neurosurgery Physician Assistant to support our neurosurgery service line in both acute hospital and outpatient settings.

The role involves M-F clinic duties with first assist in the OR, rotating one in three weekends on call, and rotating weeknight call. Salary starts at $130,000 and increases with surgical experience; daily call rates and bonus potential may apply.

Qualifications

• Neurosurgery and/or Orthopedics experience preferred.
• Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Colorado license must be current and unrestricted.
• DEA license and BLS current.

Responsibilities

• Provide neurosurgical care to adult patients.
• Care for patients in ED, ICU, trauma, medical floors, and clinic settings.
• In clinic, see new patients, follow-ups, post-ops, and patients with/without images.
• Independently work up patients for surgical plan to review with surgeon.
• Assist in urgent bedside procedures and act as First Assist in OR.
• Collaborate with the clinical team and provide on-call support in rotation.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide Neurosurgical care to adult patients
• Provide care for patients in a variety of settings including ED, ICU, trauma and medical floors, pre- and post- operative management, and clinic
• In clinic, must be comfortable seeing new patients, follow ups, post ops, and patients with/without images
• Must be able to work up patients for surgical plan independently to review with the surgeon
• Responsible for assisting in urgent bedside procedures
• First Assist in OR
• Collaborate and support entire clinical team in supporting our patients
• Provide on call support in rotation with other PAs

Salary range starts at $130,000 and goes up based on related surgical experience. Additionally, there is a daily call rate and bonus potential.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate must possess excellent communication skills and computer skills as well as be able to perform all tasks with accuracy, is a team player, and has a positive attitude. In addition, we are looking for the following:

• Neurosurgery and/or Orthopedics surgerypreferred
• Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program
• > MUST HAVE SURGICAL ASSIST CERTIFICATION IF YOU ARE AN NP
• Current and unrestricted Colorado license
• Current and unrestricted DEA license
• Current BLS
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
