Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health in Jersey City, NJ, seeks a Physician Assistant for the Neurosciences APP's at JCMC. This full-time role supports inpatient/outpatient care coordination with surgeons, on a day shift, 40 hours per week.

The PA provides pre-, intra-, and post-operative care, serves as neurosurgical liaison, and participates in trauma resuscitation and daily rounds. Licensure, AMA PA degree, and CDS/DEA/BLS/ACLS credentials are required, ATLS within year.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA accredited Physician Assistant program and licensed by the New Jersey Board of Medical Examiners.
• Successful completion of all required orientation programs.
• CDS, DEA, BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Must obtain ATLS within the first year of employment

Responsibilities

• Provides pre-operative, operative and post-operative patient care, under the supervision of the attending surgeon.
• Responds to and participates in the evaluation and resuscitation of trauma patients.
• Will act as the neurosurgical liaison by evaluating and informing the on call neurosurgeon of new and established patients.
• Observe and care for the service patients in the surgical intensive care unit and participate in daily rounds.
• Will assist in Neurosurgical and Neuroendovascular procedures and operation.
• Attends CME programs to enhance professional growth and development.
