Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Medical Assistant (MA) for Lake Cumberland Neurosurgical Associates in Somerset. The role supports providers, manages patient flow, documents in the EMR, and helps coordinate care during neurosurgical visits.

You will assist with patient assessments, prepare patients for exams, obtain vital signs, and ensure rooms and supplies are ready. BLS certification or ability to obtain is required.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent preferred.
• Prior medical office or clinical experience preferred.
• Experience in neurosurgery, orthopedics or related setting is a plus.
• Strong communication, organization and patient service skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• BLS certification or ability to obtain within required timeframe.

Responsabilidades

• Assists physicians and clinical staff with patient assessments, examinations and treatments.
• Prepares patients for examinations and procedures, including obtaining vital signs and reviewing pertinent medical history.
• Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection as directed.
• Documents patient information and care accurately in the electronic medical record.
• Monitors and communicates changes in a patient's condition to the appropriate provider.
• Assists with coordinating patient care, diagnostic testing, referrals and follow-up appointments.
• Prepares examination rooms and ensures appropriate equipment and supplies are available.
• Maintains medical equipment and supplies, including stocking, cleaning and troubleshooting as needed.
• Supports efficient patient flow throughout the clinic.
• Performs administrative and clerical duties as assigned, including scheduling, registration, data entry, filing and telephone support.
• Provides compassionate, patient-centered service while maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality.
