Job summary

Hartford HealthCare Medical Group is seeking a Surgical Physician Assistant (PA) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to join our Neurosurgery team. The role includes 1:1 training with neurosurgeons, participation in DBS/HIFU programs, and both clinic and OR time as a 1st Assist.

The successful candidate will work with an experienced team in a patient-centered environment, with established practice support and mentorship to grow clinically and professionally.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Master’s program.
• Licensed, or eligible to be licensed, as a Physician Assistant/APRN in Connecticut.
• Certification or eligible for certification as PA or NABP-APRN.
• RNFA certification required for APRN.
• Preferred >1 year neurosurgery/orthopedics surgical PA, OR first assist.

Responsibilities

• 1:1 training with neurosurgeons.
• DBS program involvement including HIFU for movement disorders.
• 1st Assist in cranial and spine procedures in OR and clinic.
• Collaborate with a team of advanced practitioners with neurosurgery experience.
• Established practice with time spent with patients and ongoing mentorship.

Advanced Providers Role Scope

We have a growth opportunity for a Surgical Physician Assistant (PA) or Advanced Practice RN (APRN) who will enjoy:

• Unique, 1:1 training with neurosurgeons


• Growth and development- Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) program including the use of High Intensity Focus Ultrasound (HIFU) treatment for movement disorders


• Both clinic and OR time (1st Assist) for cranial and spine procedures


• Working with a team of advanced practitioners with an abundance of Neurosurgery experience


• Established practice and staff who take time with their patients

Shift

FullTimefour 10-hour shifts, M-F. Hours may vary dependent upon case load. No call requirements, no weekends.

Qualifications
