Job summary

Hartford HealthCare Medical Group is recruiting a Surgical Physician Assistant (PA) or Advanced Practice RN (APRN) for a growth-oriented role in neurosurgery. The position offers 1:1 training with neurosurgeons and participation in DBS and HIFU treatments, with both clinic and OR time as a 1st Assist.

We seek candidates with a Master’s in PA or APRN, CT licensure eligibility, and RNFA certification. Prior neurosurgery or orthopedic OR experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner Master’s program preferred.
• Licensed, or eligible to be licensed, as a Physician Assistant / Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in Connecticut.
• Certification or eligible to be certified as a Physician Assistant or National Board Certification as an APRN.
• RNFA (Registered Nurse First Assist) certification required for APRN.
• Preferred >1-year experience as a Surgical PA in Neurosurgery or Orthopedics; OR 1st Assist in OR preferred.

Responsibilities

• Unique, 1:1 training with neurosurgeons.
• Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) program involvement and HIFU treatment for movement disorders.
• 1st Assist in cranial and spine procedures in OR and clinic settings.
• Collaborate with a team of advanced practitioners with neurosurgery experience.

Shift

FullTimefour 10-hour shifts, M-F. Hours may vary dependent upon case load. No call requirements, no weekends.
