Job summary

Hartford HealthCare Medical Group is seeking a Surgical Physician Assistant (PA) or Advanced Practice RN (APRN) with a focus in neurosurgery. The role includes 1:1 training with neurosurgeons, involvement in DBS and HIFU programs, and clinic plus OR time as a first assistant for cranial and spine procedures.

You will work with experienced practitioners in a well-established Neurosurgery team, enjoying strong mentorship and robust professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner Master’s program preferred.
• Licensed, or eligible to be licensed, as a Physician Assistant / Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of Connecticut.
• Certification or eligible to be certified as a Physician Assistant or National Board Certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse.
• RNFA (Registered Nurse First Assist) certification required for Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)
• Preferred >1-year experience as a Surgical Physician Assistant in a Neurosurgery or an Orthopedic setting; 1st Assist in OR preferred

Responsibilities

• Unique, 1:1 training with neurosurgeons.
• Growth and development- Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) program including the use of High Intensity Focus Ultrasound (HIFU) treatment for movement disorders.
• Both clinic and OR time (1st Assist) for cranial and spine procedures.
• Working with a team of advanced practitioners with an abundance of Neurosurgery experience.
• Established practice and staff who take time with their patients
