Job summary

The Scheduler II at CHOC in Orange, CA coordinates scheduling of complex procedures and appointments, ensuring complete information and accurate registrations. You will liaise between families, insurers, physicians, and clinical teams to optimize workflow and service delivery.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year in healthcare scheduling or 2+ years in front office, strong communication, and the ability to handle interruptions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of scheduling and registration experience in healthcare.
• Alternatively 2 years of front office experience.
• Experience coordinating complex procedures and patient care across departments.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to handle interruptions.
• Knowledge of Government and Commercial insurance systems.
• Bilingual English/Spanish highly preferred.

Job Summary

The Scheduler II is responsible for scheduling complex procedures and appointments; ensuring thorough and complete information is obtained. Facilitates the scheduling and registration process and optimizes efficiencies and workflows. Works as a liaison between family, insurance carrier, physician office, and clinical professionals to assure scheduling occurs in a highly accurate and timely manner. Assists with covering for the front office as needed.

Pay Range

Minimum $23.00 Midpoint $29.64 Maximum $36.28 Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.

Experience

• Required: Minimum one (1) year of scheduling and registration experience in a healthcare setting using a computerized scheduling system or two (2) years of front office experience.
• Preferred: Experience coordinating and scheduling complex procedures. Experience coordinating patient care with multiple departments.

Education

• Required: High School Diploma/ GED or equivalent.
• Preferred: Associate degree in related field.

Training

• Required: None required.

Specialized Skills

• Required: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Working knowledge of computer software, i.e. Microsoft products. Ability to pleasantly handle interruptions in work-tasks due to greeting people & answering a multiple phone line. Excellent organizational skills, critical thinking skills, judgment, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work harmoniously. Ability to obtain authorizations. Knowledge of Government and Commercial insurance systems.
• Preferred: Bilingual in English/ Spanish highly preferred.
