Job summary

UC Irvine Health's Department of Neurological Surgery seeks a Nurse Practitioner per diem to join neurosurgical care teams in ambulatory and inpatient settings. The APP provides advanced nursing care under supervision of neurosurgery and neurology attendings, coordinating treatment, education, and communication with patients and referring physicians.

Applicants must hold CA RN and NP licenses, Furnishing license with DEA, NP Board certification (AGACNP-BC or ACNPC-AG), BLS and ACLS, and have at

Qualifications

Current, active, unrestricted California Registered Nurse license.
Current, active, unrestricted California Nurse Practitioner license.
Current, active, unrestricted Furnishing license and DEA registration.
NP National Board Certification (AGACNP-BC or ACNPC-AG).
Current BLS certification.
Current ACLS Certification.
Active National Provider Identifier (NPI).
At least 6 months prior NP experience.
Neurosurgery and neuroscience experience.

Responsibilities

Participate in comprehensive care of patients in ambulatory or inpatient settings.
Provide multi-disciplinary care coordination, treatment, education, monitoring, and communication with patients and referring physicians.
Coordinate with Neurology and Neurosurgery attendings and staff.
Ensure adherence to privacy, confidentiality, and PHI policies.
Assist in a variety of procedures and use of specialized medical equipment.
