Job summary

Ascension is seeking a Physician Assistant to join the Neurosurgery team at Dell Seton Medical Center UT in Austin, TX. This full-time inpatient role supports direct patient care across the treatment continuum, collaborating with physicians and APPs to develop personalized care plans.

Ideal candidates hold Texas PA licensure with NCCPA, BLS, and ALS, plus 2–3 years neurosurgery experience. Master's degree preferred. Employed within a nonprofit health system focused on mission-centered care.

Qualifications

• Licensure as Physician Assistant in Texas (TX) and NCCPA certification.
• BLS required within 30 days of hire; ALS preferred.
• 2–3 years neurosurgery experience preferred; Master’s degree optional.

Responsibilities

• Direct the treatment and long-term management of neurosurgical patients within an inpatient setting.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Physician Assistant credentialed from the Texas Medical Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Certified Physician Assistant credentialed from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program. Master's degree preferred.
