Ascension Health in Austin, TX, seeks a Physician Assistant to join an established neurosurgery team in an inpatient setting. This full-time, weekend-based schedule supports comprehensive care delivery under a nonprofit health system.

The role emphasizes directing treatment plans, long-term management of diverse conditions, and educating patients and families to improve health literacy and outcomes.

Competenze

• BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer date required (AHA or Red Cross accepted).
• Licensed Physician Assistant credentialed by Texas Medical Board before hire date.
• Certified Physician Assistant credentialed by NCCPA before hire date.
• Advanced Life Support preferred (AHA or Red Cross accepted).
• Master's degree preferred.

• Lead Comprehensive Care Delivery: Direct the treatment and long-term management of diverse health conditions, ensuring every patient receives a personalized and effective care plan.

• Empower Patients and Families: Translate medical jargon into actionable guidance, educating caregivers on treatment options and community resources to improve health literacy.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

• Licensed Physician Assistant credentialed from the Texas Medical Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

• Certified Physician Assistant credentialed from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

• Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

• Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program. Master's degree preferred.

Additional Preferences:

• 2-3 years of Neurosurgery experience
