Job summary

UAB Medicine's Neurosurgery Acute Care Unit (NACU) seeks an LPN to provide nursing care under supervision, orient patients and families to the care environment, and document care delivery. The role supports patient advocacy and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team.

Required are Alabama LPN licensure, BLS, and unit-specific certifications; ACLS/PALS may be required. The unit values high standards of care and patient education in a top-ranked medical system.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Practical Nursing Program; LPN license/endorsement in Alabama required.
• BLS certification (or obtained within 30 days) per AHA standards.
• ACLS and/or PALS may be required depending on unit.
• No substitutions for education with work experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care by executing and administering treatments and procedures.
• Report patient issues or concerns to supervisor.
• Maintain accurate patient records and care documentation.
• Educate patients/families per established plan of care.
• Demonstrate exceptional customer service standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
