Job summary

The Neurosurgery Acute Care Unit (NACU) at UAB Medicine is a 25-bed unit providing care for general neurology and post-surgical neurosurgery patients. The NACU team also treats neurological disorders and stroke patients, and UAB is nationally ranked with Alabama's top programs in neurology and neurosurgery.

We seek a Registered Nurse who graduated from an accredited nursing program, is licensed in Alabama, and holds BLS certification (ACLS/PALS may be required depending on the unit).

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program required.
• Currently licensed or licensed by endorsement as an RN by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.
• BLS certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to assess and care for patients, provide health teaching and counseling, and support life and peace in end-of-life care.
• Delegate, coordinate, and manage nursing care for patients and families in collaboration with the health care team.
