Job summary

Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach seeks a Medical Scribe to support neurosurgery teams. You will assist Dr. Kantrowitz by closing charts and scribing during patient visits, ensuring accurate documentation and smooth workflow.

Responsibilities include identifying patient problems, recording HPI details, preparing notes, pend notes for signature, answering calls, and assisting patients with questions. High School diploma required; healthcare experience preferred.

• Education: High School
• Experience: Experience in a Healthcare setting preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Able to identify patient ongoing problems.
• For existing patients, able to identify reason for visit/chief complaint, changes to medication and orders placed.
• For new patients, able to identify reason for visit and any ongoing problems.
• Able to start progress note including initial HPI, laboratory studies and other studies, and ICD/problem list for physician.
• Include location, quality, severity, duration, timing, context, precipitating/modifying factors, and associated signs and symptoms in HPI section.
• Include any details physician wants to take record in progress note.
• Able to record any findings physician has for review of systems and physical exam.
• Able to prepare and print out any related patient instructions/after visit summary/lab orders, if necessary.
• Able to "Pend" progress note for physician to personally review and sign.
• Able to help patient with any questions.
• Able to answer the phone with proper etiquette.
• Able to make addendums to the progress note at the request of the physician, if necessary.
