Job summary

Mount Sinai Medical Center of Florida, Inc. in Miami is seeking a healthcare scribe in the CC207269 Neurosurgery III department. You will assist the physician with chart closeouts and scribing during patient visits, documenting HPI, orders, and physician findings.

Responsibilities

• Assist Dr. Kantrowitz with closing charts and scribing during patient visits.
• Identify patient ongoing problems and reasons for visit or chief complaint.
• Record initial HPI, labs and tests, and ICD/problem list in progress notes.
• Prepare and print patient instructions, after-visit summaries, and lab orders.
• Pend progress notes for physician review and signature.
• Answer phone calls with proper etiquette and assist patients with questions.

Job Description Summary: assist Dr Kantrowitz close charts and scribe during patient visits

Position Responsibilities

• Able to identify patient ongoing problems.
• For existing patients, able to identify reason for visit/chief complaint, changes to medication and orders placed.
• For new patients, able to identify reason for visit and any ongoing problems.
• Able to start progress note including initial HPI, laboratory studies and other studies, and ICD/problem list for physician.
• Include location, quality, severity, duration, timing, context, precipitating/modifying factors, and associated signs and symptoms in HPI section.
• Include any details physician wants to take record in progress note.
• Able to record any findings physician has for review of systems and physical exam.
• Able to prepare and print out any related patient instructions/after visit summary/lab orders, if necessary.
• Able to "Pend" progress note for physician to personally review and sign.
• Able to help patient with any questions.
• Able to answer the phone with proper etiquette.
• Able to make addendums to the progress note at the request of the physician, if necessary.
