Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking a Medical Assistant in Neurosurgery, based at Baptist Medical Center South in Jacksonville. The role delivers prompt, professional patient care and supports education, under physician supervision.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, clinical MA experience or a certificate program, and a preferred MA certification with BLS. Responsibilities include relaying patient information to physicians, assisting with exams, and performing routine tasks within the clinic

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required with medical training through a certificate program or at least 2 years experience in a clinical setting.
• Active Medical Assistant certification/registration preferred, BLS required.
• Knowledge of glucometer, PT/INR machine, wheel chair, and thermometers.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, visitors and coworkers; strong written and verbal skills.
• Proficiency in charting and computer use; customer service oriented.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality patient care in a prompt and professional manner.
• Assist in delivery of patient education and communicate patient information to and from physicians.
• Perform direct, individualized, goal-directed patient care under physician supervision.
• May assume additional duties within the scope of the role.
