Job summary

Brown University Health is seeking a Physician Assistant to join its neurosurgery team. You will evaluate and manage outpatient neurosurgery patients, prepare patients for surgery, and coordinate pre-op and post-op care under supervision of attending surgeons and APPs.

The role involves assisting in the operating room, triaging calls, and educating patients and families about procedures and recovery. Rhode Island licensure eligibility is required or pursued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Biology and Graduate of Accredited Physician Assistant Program.
• Licensed or eligible to be licensed to practice in Rhode Island.
• Neurosurgery experience is a plus, but new graduates considered.

Responsibilities

• Comprehensive evaluation and management of outpatient neurosurgery patients.
• Prepare patients for surgery with pre-op evaluations and clearances.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and coordinate care.
• Provide pre- and post-operative patient education and follow-up care.
• Assist in the operating room as needed and provide cross-coverage for neurosurgery.
