Job summary

Albany Medical Center, part of Albany Med Health System, is seeking a Unit Coordinator for the Neurosciences & Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU). The role supports the unit with patient records, reception, and clerical duties, using EPIC and other clinical systems.

Salary ranges from $46,215 to $60,080 per year. Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, 1–3 years of healthcare or clerical experience, and strong organizational and communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate's Degree preferred.
• 1-3 years healthcare or clerical experience required.
• Ability to coordinate and work as a team with various disciplines.
• Effective communication with internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

• Assemble/maintain patient records; handle data and reports for department operations.
• Greet and assist visitors courteously.
• Use clinical and patient information systems to support patient care.
• Coordinate department communications and screen calls.
• Assist in orientation of new administrative staff.
• Maintain supplies and equipment; troubleshoot office tools.
• Assist in scheduling and payroll/timekeeping (Kronos).
• Demonstrate professional business etiquette and teamwork.
• Respond to patient/family needs and monitor patient call system.
• Coordinate admissions, discharges and transfers with other departments.
