Job summary

Compass Pathways, a neuroscience-focused biotechnology company, is seeking a Neuroscience Therapeutic Sales Specialist to drive adoption of an innovative mental health therapy. This field-based role will partner with psychiatrists, treatment centers, and healthcare systems within Portland, ME and surrounding areas, with up to 70% travel.

You will work under the Regional Sales Director to execute a strategic commercial plan.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• 5–8+ years of pharmaceutical or biotech sales experience, preferably in specialty or complex therapeutic areas.
• Experience in psychiatry, CNS, or behavioral health markets is preferred.
• Experience with medical and pharmacy benefit reimbursement, buy-and-bill, site-of-care dynamics, and payer processes is preferred.
• Demonstrated success in launching novel therapies or operating in pre-launch environments.
• Experience working with specialty treatment centers, IDNs, academic medical centers, or complex site-of-care models is preferred.
• Strong clinical acumen and ability to communicate complex scientific concepts clearly.
• Proven track record of building trust-based relationships with healthcare providers.
• Experience supporting therapies requiring site certification or coordinated care delivery models is highly desirable.
• Highly collaborative, with the ability to work across cross-functional teams.
• Strong business acumen, territory management, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Execute territory-level commercial strategy to support launch and uptake of the therapy.
• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with psychiatrists, treatment centers, behavioral health systems, and other stakeholders.
• Deliver scientifically accurate, compliant, and compelling education to healthcare providers.
• Identify appropriate patients and support providers in understanding referral pathways.
• Collaborate with certified treatment sites to support onboarding and optimization of treatment delivery workflows.
• Navigate site-of-care dynamics, including scheduling and patient flow.
• Partner cross-functionally with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Support, and Commercial Operations.
• Support patient access by understanding reimbursement pathways and assisting providers with access challenges.
• Gather and communicate actionable field insights to inform brand strategy and launch execution.
• Manage territory business planning, including account prioritization and call planning.
• Demonstrate ethical, compliant, patient-centric engagement; foster collaboration and learning.
