Summary

This is a field-based and remote opportunity supporting key accounts in an assigned geography.

The Territory Account Specialist (TAS) is a sales leader who designs a customized customer experience tailored to each account and Healthcare Provider (HCP). As the primary Point of Contact (PoC), the TAS engages with clients to identify mutual priorities, address needs through problem-solving, and leverage Novartis resources to improve patient outcomes. The role requires expertise in clinical selling, account management, access navigation, and omni-channel engagement.

About The Role
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop strategic territory business plans to increase product demand by addressing the needs of key partners and patients, aiming for excellent outcomes.
  • Encourage clinical discussions to motivate customer advocacy and involve the account team to overcome barriers with appropriate solutions.
  • Use market insights, industry trends, and cross-functional strategies to identify and manage business opportunities and challenges.
  • Conduct planning meetings with stakeholders to resolve complex customer issues and collaborate across departments to meet customer needs.
  • Analyze market data within the territory to understand the local landscape, promote engagement, and lead virtual and in-person customer interactions.
  • Implement omni-channel strategies to maximize Novartis capabilities for personalized engagement, whether in person or virtually.
  • Collaborate with regional colleagues, field staff, and home-office teams to proactively meet customer needs and provide access support.
  • Provide timely access assistance and coordinate with Patient Specialty Services (PSS) to address customer requirements efficiently.
Essential Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree is a plus.
  • At least 2 years of experience in specialty pharmaceuticals, biotech, or a similar sales role within the last 5 years.
  • Strong collaboration skills, effective communication of clinical product details, a record of high performance, and experience selling to large accounts and key customer segments.
  • Proactive with analytical skills to prioritize and solve problems using relevant data, demonstrating ethical leadership and compliance.
  • Reside within the territory or within 50 miles of its border and able to travel 60-80%, including driving or flying within the territory. Must have a valid driver’s license.
Desirable Requirements
  • Experience with therapeutic groups, disease states, account management, and product launches.
  • Knowledge in patient services, market access, reimbursement pathways, and medical calling on HCPs regarding sophisticated products.
Leveling Guidelines:

The position will be filled at a level based on experience.

Experience Levels:
  • Territory Account Specialist: 2+ years
  • Senior Territory Account Specialist: 5+ years
  • Executive Territory Account Specialist: 10+ years
Driving is an Essential Function:

Driving is fundamental to this role and cannot be eliminated. Candidates must have a valid, unrestricted driver’s license. Reasonable accommodations are available for medical restrictions without eliminating this essential function.

Compensation and Benefits:

The salary range varies by level, e.g., for a Territory Account Specialist: $93,800–$174,200/year. Final pay depends on location, experience, and other factors. Benefits include bonuses, stock options, medical and financial benefits, 401(k), paid time off, and more. Details will be provided upon offer.

Training Period:

Successful completion of initial training, including home study, is required. Training is within eight hours per day and forty hours per week.
