Job summary

Georgetown University is seeking a Teaching Assistant for the Department of Neuroscience to support Basic Neuroscience I, a four‑credit course meeting twice weekly for a cohort of 30+ graduate students. The TA will assist with grading, answer student questions via email, and help lead review sessions, including a short in-class lecture.

Prior completion of the course is helpful but not required; strong communication skills and familiarity with Canvas are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• MS or higher in Neuroscience or closely related field.
• Good general knowledge of Neuroscience.
• Be comfortable speaking in front of a class.
• Be comfortable using Canvas for course activities.

Responsibilities

• Answer specific questions from students (email or outside of class).
• Help grade exams.
• Run part of review sessions during the semester.
• Give one in-class lecture (less than 15 minutes).
• Run Cahoots or Jeopardy events.
