The General Hospital Corporation in Boston is seeking an Administrative Director of Research Operations for the NSI, overseeing a grant-funded portfolio and a team of about 30 research administrators and financial analysts.

Reporting to the NSI Senior Director, this role drives operating plans, budget stewardship, compliance, and performance metrics across proposals, award setup, and closeout, enabling NSI investigators to grow their research program.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree required; Master’s preferred in related field.
• 6+ years in research administration at academic medical center or university.
• 3+ years managing managers and large teams across multiple departments.
• Deep working knowledge of federal sponsored research regulations, including NIH grants policy.
• Track record of standardizing workflows, writing SOPs and building internal controls.
• Strong financial skills: reconciliation, forecasting and portfolio reporting.

Responsabilidades

• Translate NSI research strategy into operating plans, priorities, service standards and accountability.
• Direct NSI Research Administrative Operating Model day-to-day operations.
• Design and refine RAU structure with Chairs, Vice Chairs and Sr. Director; assign programs to RAUs.
• Set clear ownership across the award lifecycle (budgets, no-cost extensions, modifications).
• Track and report performance metrics (proposal turnaround, reconciliation, closeout).
• Lead process improvements for efficiency, consistency and scalability.
• Foster partnerships between PIs and research administration teams; solicit PI feedback to improve operations.
