Job summary

Rutgers University, Center for NeuroMetabolism in the Child Health Institute of New Jersey at RWJ Medical School, seeks a Postdoctoral Associate to design and analyze experiments on neural mechanisms in human neurons derived from tissue.

Under Dr. Zhiping Pang, the candidate will conduct molecular and cellular experiments, present findings at seminars, and contribute to grant applications while developing independent grant-writing skills for a future career in academia.

Qualifications

• PhD or MD in neuroscience or related biological sciences.
• Candidates in ABD status may be considered.
• Experience with cell culture, biochemistry, and cell imaging is required.

Responsibilities

• Design, perform, and analyze molecular biology and cell biology experiments.
• Generate lentiviral vectors for in vivo or in vitro delivery.
• Compile and analyze data with conclusions to support CHI research.
• Present data to the PI and in lab meetings in a timely manner.
• Assist in manuscript and grant preparation and training of students.
• Contribute to setting research methodologies and instrument coordination.
