Job summary

The Post Doctoral Associate will lead research projects at Rutgers University to investigate how lipids, lipoproteins, and related factors influence neurodegenerative processes. The role includes developing cell-based and other preclinical models, designing mechanistic studies, and analyzing clinical/omics data to translate findings.

Mentoring students, contributing to grants, and publishing in peer-reviewed journals are expected.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Food Science, Neuroscience/Neurobiology, Nutritional Science, Physiology, Vascular Biology, or related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in mammalian cell culture and cell biology techniques.
• Strong experimental design, research, organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, validate, and apply mammalian cell-based and other models to study mechanisms of neurodegenerative diseases; assess lipid/lipoprotein roles.
• Create and maintain standard operating procedure documentation for lab work.
• Conduct literature reviews, perform experiments and analyses, prepare manuscripts, and train junior trainees.
