Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Patient Care Technician for Neurosciences at 36 hours per week (0.9 FTE), full-time day shift with rotating weekends. Compensation is hourly, $18.33–$24.75, with benefits and opportunities for growth.

Under RN supervision, you will support basic patient care and daily living activities in a busy Neurosciences unit. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and CNA/CMA/EMT or nursing student with clinical exposure, CPR and BLS.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, or nursing students with one semester of clinical experience are acceptable.
• CPR certification is required; American Heart Association BLS is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic nursing care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output.
• Assists patients with personal care and activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, eating).
• Reports abnormal findings or changes in patient condition to nursing staff.
• Keeps patient rooms clean and orderly and assists with unit workflow.
• Prioritizes tasks, remains organized, and works under time pressures in a busy unit.
• Acts as liaison between patient care units and other departments.
