Job summary

UCLA Health is seeking a Lab Assistant II to conduct behavioral training experiments, brain sectioning and histology, and brain imaging data collection with mice. S/he will be responsible for data collection, for scheduling undergraduate students to run the same experiments, and to perform general laboratory duties, including the generating of spreadsheet data summaries in Excel.

A Bachelor of Science degree in biological or equivalent or related fields is required.

Qualifications

• BS in biological or related field required.
• Mouse handling experience required.
• Some experience with basic behavioral tasks is preferred.
• Proficiency in Excel; Python, R or Matlab helpful.

Responsibilities

• Conduct behavioral training experiments with mice.
• Perform brain sectioning, histology and brain imaging data collection.
• Manage data collection and schedule undergraduates for experiments.
• Generate spreadsheet data summaries in Excel and report weekly.
