Job summary

The Allen Institute in Seattle is seeking a Scientist I in Image Processing and Scientific Computing to lead the analysis of large-scale Electron Microscopy datasets and to scale processing within a high-throughput pipeline.

You will work with a team of anatomists, physiologists, theoreticians, and modelers to study cell types across modalities, publishing findings in peer-reviewed venues and contributing to the Brain Science accelerator. Onsite work with potential relocation and visa options.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Computer Science, Applied Math, or Engineering
• Strong background in image processing
• Experience with software engineering practices (version control, code reviews)

Responsibilities

• Collaborate to scale image processing for high-throughput EM pipelines
• Oversee EM data 2D stitching and 3D alignment pipelines
• Analyze EM data to relate cell types to molecular and physiological properties
• Publish and present findings in peer-reviewed journals/conferences

Skills

Strong background in image processing

Experience with software engineering 1
