Job summary

The Allen Institute is seeking a neuroscientist to lead the image processing and analysis of large-scale Electron Microscopy (EM) datasets in Seattle. The Connectomics Department will rely on your expertise to create datasets that relate cell types across modalities to brain function.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Neuroscience, CS, Applied Math, or Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong background in image processing.
• Experience with software engineering practices (e.g., version control, code reviews).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate to scale the image processing of a high throughput EM pipeline towards whole mouse brain datasets.
• Oversee EM data 2D stitching and 3D alignment automated pipeline.
• Work with anatomists, physiologists, theoreticians, and modelers to analyze EM data for cell types and modalities.
• Publish and present findings in peer-reviewed journals and conferences.
