Territory: East Bay, CA - Neuroscience - Psychiatry

Target city for territory is Oakland - will consider candidates who live within 40 miles of territory boundaries with access to a major airport. Territory boundaries include: Oakland, Vallejo, Davis, Brentwood, Livermore, Fremont & Milpitas.

As a Neuroscience Account Manager, you will lead the promotion of our psychiatry portfolio to Psychiatrist and Institutional Accounts such as community mental health centers and hospitals. You will execute sales and marketing strategies with comprehensive clinical knowledge to drive sales performance. Our Neuroscience Account Managers are skilled at overcoming commercialization challenges in a rapidly changing environment and should demonstrate strength in the following areas:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Business Planning & Account Leadership - Use digital tools and data insights to create opportunities, develop strategies, allocate resources, monitor progress, and adjust strategies to maximize sales.
  2. Selling - Communicate effectively with customers, probe needs, handle objections, and close calls with actionable commitments to influence behavior.
  3. Customer Development - Build and maintain productive relationships based on customer needs and organizational goals, including 'total office' account management.
  4. Local Market & Therapeutic Area Expertise - Gather market trends, map account linkages, and apply therapeutic knowledge to identify opportunities.
  5. Reimbursement - Stay informed on reimbursement dynamics, address payer access issues using Lundbeck resources.
  6. Pharmaceutical Environment/Compliance - Apply knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations and ensure adherence to Lundbeck policies and FDA regulations.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and SKILLS:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • 4+ years of healthcare sales experience in pharmaceuticals, biopharmaceuticals, biologics, or medical devices
  • Ability to score highly on disease and product training exams; certification on product knowledge annually
  • Self-starter with strong work ethic and communication skills
  • Proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Must reside within 40 miles of the territory boundaries
  • Valid driver's license with a safe driving record
  • Meet industry-standard credentialing requirements for healthcare providers
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and SKILLS:
  • Experience promoting CNS/neuroscience products (depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder)
  • Successful sales performance track record
  • Ownership of account planning and execution
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with sales data tools
  • Experience calling on diverse customer points, including hospitals and mental health centers
  • Experience with buy & bill/injectable products
  • Experience with product launches and working with alliance partners
TRAVEL:
  • Willingness to travel up to 30-40% domestically for customer meetings and conferences within the US.

The salary range for California residents is $125,000 - $155,000, plus a sales incentive target of $39,000. Benefits include flexible PTO, health coverage, 401(k) match, and a company car. More benefits details are available on our career site. Applications are accepted continuously.
