Thrive Pet Healthcare in Torrance, CA seeks a Neurology Veterinary Technician to support neurology patients through procedures, outpatient treatments, and diagnostic lab work. You will assist with admissions and discharges while delivering compassionate client education in a fast-paced, caring hospital.

Formación

• Licensure as a veterinary technician preferred.
• 1–2 years of clinical experience required or preferred.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from AVMA-accredited program preferred or equivalent.

Responsabilidades

• Communicate with clients about treatment plans and discharge instructions.
• Assist in anesthesia induction and monitoring for diagnostic procedures.
• Monitor and treat critically ill patients and notify the Doctor.
• Maintain comprehensive medical records using practice systems.
• Gather health history and manage medical charts.
• Use safe restraining techniques and keep areas clean and organized.
• Guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.

ACCESS South Bay is looking for a Neurology Veterinary Technician to join us as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community.

As a Neurology Veterinary Technician you’ll play an important role in pets’ lives by providing end-to-end care for our precious patients. Your life-changing work will range from the hands-on care of facilitating outpatient treatments and performing laboratory tests, to support services including admitting and discharging patients.

Role Responsibilities

• Strong client communication skills are a must: technicians obtain histories, present treatment plans, review discharge instructions and medications, and provide client education on more complex disease processes treated by Internal Medicine
• Anesthetic induction (RVTs) and monitoring of sensitive and potentially critically ill patients for advanced diagnostic procedures (CT, endoscopy, bone marrow aspirates, joint taps, and more)
• Monitor and perform treatments for patients requiring intensive management, recognize significant changes in the patient’s condition, and notify the Doctor.
• Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on Thrive Membership options, medications, and additional treatments.
• Assist in maintaining relevant, comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems.
• Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts.
• Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.
• Be willing to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.

Experience & Skills Requirements

• Veterinary technician licensure preferred
• 1-2 years of clinical experience
• An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program preferred; or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Sunday-Wednesday, 8:00 am to 6:30 pm

Compensation negotiable based on credentials and experience with a hourly pay rate starting at$26 -$40 /hour. The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
