Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Neurology Veterinary Technician to support advanced neurological care. You will train for MRI/CT, assist in neurosurgeries, and manage anesthesia with care.

Qualifications

• Must be a certified veterinary technician with strong anesthesia skills.
• Experience working in a neurology or emergency setting is preferred.
• Ability to educate clients and discharge neuro patients with proper instructions.

Responsibilities

• Set up and be trained for MRI and CT procedures.
• Assist in the OR during neurosurgeries.
• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia; proficiency required.
• Perform medical math calculations (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc.).
• Discharge neuro patients with client education and home care guidance.
• Take histories and provide patient education to clients.
• Perform IVC placement and venipuncture.
• Operate IV fluid pumps and troubleshoot errors.
• Restrain patients during consults and diagnostics.
