Job summary

Trinity Health Of New England is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse for day shifts in Connecticut. The RN will provide higher level clinical support, uphold patient-centered care, and collaborate with physicians, AMPs, and health care teams.

Responsibilities include triage, IV access, post-procedure care, documentation in EMR, patient and family education, and ensuring continuity of care. Requires CT RN license and nursing degree; neurology experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Connecticut RN license required.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to overall quality of nursing care through performance improvement techniques that impact patient care positively.
• Perform patient triage, including assessment of symptoms, review of clinical concerns, and coordination of appropriate follow-up care.
• Support both Stroke Neurology and Pain Neurology providers in the delivery of patient care.
• Assist physicians and advanced practice providers with in-office procedures.
• Prepare patients for procedures, monitor patient status, and provide post-procedure care instructions.
• Initiate and maintain peripheral intravenous (IV) access when required for diagnostic or procedural needs.
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions or complications during and after procedures.
• Coordinate patient care, referrals, diagnostic testing, and follow-up appointments.
• Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and procedural expectations.
• Document all patient interactions, assessments, interventions, and communications in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Respond to patient calls, portal messages, and urgent clinical inquiries according to established protocols.
• Collaborate with providers, clinical staff, and external healthcare organizations to ensure continuity of care.
• Maintain compliance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and standards of nursing practice.
• Communicates effectively (written and verbal) with colleagues, patients and family members.
• Understanding of computer-based applications (E-MAR, clinical documentation), email, and standard applications such as Microsoft Office.
• Demonstrates problem solving, conflict resolution, and positive communication through teamwork.
