Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Nurse Clinician to provide comprehensive nursing care in a multidisciplinary setting at our Chicago area facilities. You will perform patient assessments, administer treatments, and coordinate care with physicians and staff, both in person and by phone, while upholding safety and quality standards.

You will educate patients and families, participate in community outreach, and ensure accurate documentation in the medical record.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Illinois.
• Certification in Basic CPR.
• Current experience within past five years or new nursing graduate within past two years.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments via phone or in person and implement nursing interventions.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment and ensure OSHA compliance.
• Provide pre-attending care and document assessments in the medical record.
• Perform routine nursing duties including phlebotomy, medication administration, vital signs, lab prep.
• Interpret abnormal test results and take appropriate remedial action.
• Triage and prioritize incoming calls and coordinate patient care with other departments.
• Communicate and collaborate with physicians and staff to ensure coordinated care.
