VCA Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Center of Kalamazoo in Kalamazoo, MI is hiring an MRI technician for our Neurology Department. We seek an experienced Veterinary Technician (LVT) with MRI experience; human medicine MRI technologists are welcome to apply.

As a Neurology MRI Veterinary Technician, you will independently perform diagnostic MRI studies, manage imaging protocols, PACS, and hospital software, and prepare patients for procedures following safety protocols.

Qualifications

• LVT with MRI experience; both LVTs and human MRI technologists are welcome to apply.
• Experience with PACS and hospital software is preferred.
• Ability to run CT scans is a plus and will be trained if needed.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform diagnostic MRI studies under the direction of a veterinarian.
• Create new and modify imaging protocols.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of PACS, computer systems, and hospital software.
• Review patient medical information and prepare for procedures following screening and care protocols.
• Coordinate patient flow through the MRI department and assist to expedite service.
• Train and monitor technical staff on MRI equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment and report failures, maintaining records.
• Follow MRI safety procedures and report hazards.
• Present hospital estimates clearly to clients.
• Address client concerns within job duties.
