Job summary

Wisconsin Veterinary Neurology and Surgical Center is seeking a licensed veterinary technician to join a close-knit growing team focused on small animal neurology. You will provide compassionate patient care, ensure positive client experiences, and be a strong team player.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid CVT license in Wisconsin.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Outstanding people skills.
• Ability to multitask in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
• Team player.
• Ability to bend, kneel, and safely handle large and/or difficult patients.

Responsibilities

• Triaging patients, taking vitals, and acquiring patient histories.
• Assisting with diagnostic procedures, including MRI, CSF taps, radiographs and more.
• Client communication, discussing treatment plans, estimates, payment options, calls and discharges.
• Phlebotomy.
• IV catheter placement.
• Urinary catheter placement.
• Induction/monitoring of general anesthesia/sedation.
• Operate a mechanical ventilator.
• Autoclave and Sterlink sterilizer operation.
• Process specimens in the in-house lab and submit to outside labs.
• Calculate medication dosages and provide dosage instructions to clients.
• Keep accurate patient records.
• Assist with neurologic surgical procedures.
• Assist with carrying of patients (up to 50lbs).
