Job summary

Mount Carmel is hiring a Medical Assistant for our Neurology team in Westerville, OH. You will support providers by rooming patients, taking vitals, recording history, and coordinating referrals and prior authorizations. This is a full-time role with standard clinic hours.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED with 1–2 years medical experience or related healthcare training, and BLS/CPR certification. EPIC experience is a plus; state scope aligns with Ohio regulations.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED with 1–2 years medical experience, or higher degree; MA program preferred.
• Certification/registration: MA certification/registration preferred; EMT/EMT-P or Military Medical Corpsman training preferred.
• Experience: 1–2 years medical assisting experience preferred; or 2–3 years medical office experience if education limited.
• Current BLS/CPR required and must maintain current certification.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and room patients, record height, weight and vitals.
• Review medical history, chief complaints, and gather information.
• Referral and prior authorization.
• Answer in basket messages, patient follow up calls and messages.
• Using EPIC.
