Job summary

Atrium Health Neurology is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Cabarrus location. This full-time outpatient role supports physicians with rooming patients, vital signs, history and screening, and clerical tasks to ensure smooth clinic operations.

Responsibilities include performing CLIA-waived tests, venipuncture, specimen handling, and assisting with procedures. Progression to higher roles may be available with demonstrated competency.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or structured military medical training (DD214) in lieu of formal program.
• Wake Forest/Floyd & Navicent: similar education requirements described.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and take vital signs.
• Assist with procedures and provide support to clinicians.
• Perform venipuncture, specimen collection, and basic lab duties.
• Administer medications and vaccines per protocols.
• Schedule appointments, manage referrals, and patient messaging.
