Job description

BluePearl Pet Hospital is currently hiring for a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our Neurology team in Brooklyn, NY.

Stage of the Role

Schedule: 4x10 hour shifts + occasional on‑call expectations.

Compensation

$30.00 – $51.00 / hour + competitive shift differentials. Pay band is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency assessment tool. Candidates with VTS credentialing are eligible for compensation commensurate with experience.

Shift differentials for eligible hours (minimum 4 hours):

• Mon – Fri: 6 pm – 8 am = +$4.50 /hr.
• Sat & Sun: 8 am – 6 pm = +$4.50 /hr.
• Sat & Sun: 6 pm – 8 am = +$8.00 /hr.

Sign‑On Bonus

Up to $20,000 sign‑on bonus based on experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical exams; accurately record vital signs.
• Comfortable with intravenous catheter placement and venipuncture.
• Operate all brands of intravenous fluid pumps and troubleshoot errors.
• Gather patient histories, communicate with the doctor, and provide client education.
• Restrain patients during consults and diagnostics.
• Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia.
• Set up for MRI and CT procedures.
• Discharge neuro patients from the hospital, including basic client education such as manual bladder expression, sling walking, and range‑of‑motion exercises.
• Provide nursing care to stable patients per hospital standards of care and core values.
• Calculate medical math and set up constant‑rate infusions (CRI).
• Perform callbacks and refill medications.

Qualifications

• Licensed Veterinary Technician; VTS credentialed preferred.
• Experience in advanced veterinary medicine preferred.
• Strong critical‑thinking and teamwork skills.
