Job summary

Sumitomo Pharma America is seeking a Medical Director, Clinical Research (Neurology) to lead design and execution of clinical development plans for neurology assets within the R&D organization. You will serve as the Clinical Research Lead, coordinating with cross-functional teams across regions to drive programs from concept to regulatory submission.

Qualifications

• MD (or international equivalent).
• Board certified or board eligible in neurology.
• Fellowship training in epilepsy required.
• Experience in pediatrics preferred.
• A minimum of 1-2 years' experience in the pharmaceutical industry contributing to clinical research strategy in neurology.
• Experience in regenerative cell medicine or gene therapy preferred.
• Prior experience working with Japan organizations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead clinical development programs in the neurology therapeutic area.
• Oversee study design from concept to protocols across development stages.
• Provide SME input for clinical development strategy for assigned assets.
• Lead multi-disciplinary, multi-regional teams through complex decisions.
• Oversee clinical trial conduct with CROs, monitors, and vendors.
• Contribute to data collection tools, data analysis, and eCRF design.
• Interpret trial results and contribute to study reports and regulatory filings.
• Develop investigator brochures, annual reports, data collection systems and final reports.
• Develop clinical components of regulatory filings and health authority responses.
• Travel up to 20% domestically and internationally.
